Introduction

If you know me at all, you’ll know that I loathe and detest commercial energy drinks.

Just the stench of them grosses me out. And don’t get me started at the additives.

But I get why people drink them. They’re great when you’re feeling run down or tired, when you’ve been out in the sun or playing sports and need a hydration boost.

Do you know what’s better?

This natural Thirst Quencher, not only tastes incredible but is packed full of natural electrolytes like potassium and sodium with an energy boost from natural sugars.

It’s sweet, fruity and so refreshing.

Make a batch and pop it in the fridge.

I like to pour a cup of mine over ice with mint and top with sparkling water.

The recipe

Ingredients

3 oranges
1 lemon
small knob of ginger
1 Tbsp honey or agave
1 tsp Himalayan sea salt
Coconut water

Directions

Step 1
Prepare the oranges, lemon and ginger for your particular juicer and juice them.
Step 2
Add them to a bottle with the honey and salt and shake until mixed.
Step 3
Top up to 1 litre with the coconut water.
Step 4
Drink 250ml, diluted with water to taste.
Step 5
Note: If you don't have a juicer, run them through a blender and then strain well.
